Head of School Welcome

Nestled on 11 acres in Manoa Valley, Saint Francis School offers a “Quality Catholic Education in a Spirit of Joy!” Originally founded in 1924 by the Sisters of Saint Francis as a high school for girls, it has grown into a co-ed educational site for toddlers (age 2) through 12th grade students. Today it is sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Francis of the Neumann Communities and continues its mission of providing quality Catholic education imbued with a joyful spirit. The school embraces the Catholic philosophy that each individual is unique, created by God, for God, and in this spirit, Saint Francis School develops the whole child: mind, body, and spirit.

The characteristics that make Saint Francis School one of the top private institutions of learning in Hawaii are its highly educated and caring faculty, its academically sound curriculum, its teacher student ratio, its strong campus ministry program, its warm and welcoming Ohana, and its affordability. The school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) and the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools (HAIS).Students come from Hawaii, the U.S. mainland, Samoa, Fiji, Canada, Japan, China, Taiwan and Korea to study in a safe, friendly and academically challenging environment. Competent, confident, and well-rounded young women and men graduate from Saint Francis School and matriculate to colleges such as John Hopkins, Northwestern, Loyola Marymount, Columbia, Mills, UCLA, the University of Hawaii, Hawaii Pacific University and Chaminade University.

There is a vast array of extracurricular activities, which complement the academic program: the Aloha Show, school play, Ethnic Clubs, Mu Alpha Theta, National and Junior National Honor Societies, marching band, and many more.
