Saint Marianne Cope Preschool accepts children from 2 to 5 years old. A full day begins at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. After school, care is available from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for an additional fee. We recognize that play is the work of the child, and building on the child’s natural curiosity is the surest way to promote learning. The preschool program promotes equity and justice by creating a community that fosters respect, understanding, and an appreciation of differences.
Just as adults do not decide when a child will crawl, walk, or talk, we do not determine when the child is ready to read or write. Therefore, we offer a program that includes activities and experiences that will encourage each child to develop positive religious attitudes and social, emotional, physical, creative, and cognitive skills at his/her own pace. Development of essential foundations assures that children in our care will be ready to meet the intellectual demands associated with formal schooling. We also encourage the children to be independent by promoting self-service for snacks, helping children use their words to solve problems and taking care of their environment.
