Financial Aid and Scholarship Programs

Financial Aid

Saint Francis School is committed to the Franciscan mission of helping those who are in need, while also rewarding those who show academic promise and positive leadership. We offer one of the most affordable independent school tuitions in Hawai’i, where more than 60% of our students receive some type of financial aid. Our Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) and named scholarships are purposefully designed to help deserving families attend Saint Francis School.

In addition to tuition assistance and named scholarships, our school offers discounts for special designations such as alumni, military, and siblings. Tuition assistance, scholarships, and discounts cannot be combined with each other; however, Saint Francis School awards the greatest of the amounts to families who qualify for multiple types of aid. Financial aid, scholarships, and discounts apply to tuition only, not fees.

Saint Francis School does not offer discounts or scholarships for athletics. Moreover, athletics have no bearing on award decisions for tuition assistance, scholarships, or discounts.

Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)

Saint Francis School offers financial aid through the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) based on need to those students who have registered and paid their deposits. As much as we would like to help everyone, TAP funds are limited, and we may not be able to assist with the full need of all applicants. To be considered for financial aid, all families—new or returning—must apply each year online at FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment (FGAA), which conducts the financial need analysis for tuition assistance applications.

Families who fail to apply and provide necessary documentation by the February 15, 2019 deadline will be placed on a financial aid waitlist, which may jeopardize their opportunity to receive tuition assistance, scholarships, or discounts. Moreover, families who fail to meet their financial obligations to the school for the current academic year will be placed on a waitlist, and may not receive financial aid or scholarships. Student recipients of tuition assistance are required to help with school events such as Make a Difference Day, 9th Island, and the Golf Tournament.

To apply for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP):

Complete the TAP application packet at:

The deadline to submit your application (with all supporting documents) for preferred consideration is February 15, 2019.
