College Counseling

The College Counseling Office provides students with exceptional college planning tools and resources that are personally tailored to each student to ensure that all are able and confident to make informed college decisions. Our goal is for students to explore options that fit their unique personalities, highest aspirations, and deep-seated needs so that each may successfully attend a college of his or her choice.

A key way that College Counselors assist students in navigating the college admission process is through comprehensive junior- and senior-grade guidance classes. Counselors take a hands-on approach to helping each student through the timeline of the college application process, including accurate completion of application forms and essays, faculty letters of recommendation, FAFSA and financial aid, and scholarships and grants.

Each year, nearly fifty admission officers from a wide variety of U.S. Mainland and Hawaiʻi colleges and universities visit the College Counseling Office. Through our on-campus college visits, Saint Francis School students gain exposure and build rapport with admission officers.

Parents are a critical component of the college application process and are encouraged to take an active role in helping their student find the best college fit. Counselors are available for individual conferences with parents and students to further discuss college exploration. Meetings may be scheduled during our Junior Parent Night, Senior Parent Night, or by appointment.
