A Wet & Wild Day

The school year coming to an end can be an emotional rollercoaster for seniors. A new chapter in our lives is ending and we have to learn to let go of the high school life that we have created for ourselves.

Senior Day to Wet & Wild was a celebration and bonding with our class since we don’t have much time left with each other.

It hit me when we first split up to go on the rides. It was almost as if it symbolized how our class is going to grow apart. We will all split up and go our separate ways because we all have different interests. In this case, we all wanted to experience a different ride.

If you’re someone who craves adventure, like me, you probably would’ve picked a crazy slide to go on first, which is exactly what I did. I haven’t been to the water park in a very long time. I was surprised to see the “Shaka” as a one-man ride instead of two. I have to admit, I was a little hesitant to go on it at first. But, if there’s one thing senior year has taught me, it’s to face your fears. There is always going to be something that you’re not comfortable with, but when you conquer it, you’ll feel that much better about yourself.

Here’s a piece of advice for anyone who is planning on going to the waterpark: bring your slippers with you on the rides. Unless you have feet of steel and you’re immune to burning hot cement, just trust me.

“The Lazy River” seemed to grab everyone’s attention. I ran into many of my fellow classmates, even teachers as well. Jaeden Cruz says, “Senior Class Day was really fun. We had the whole day to ourselves and to just hangout with everyone. We never really got to hangout as a class, so it was fun being together.”

After graduation, we may grow apart, but we will always find each other again. We may not be with each other like we are now, but our connection as a class will remain. We are, and always will be, the Saint Francis class of 2018.
