KINO and the KING: A Hawaiian Adventure

KINO and the KING: A Hawaiian Adventure

Alumni Jennifer Ramos ’84 Angeli published a middle-grade+ book that’s at the Bishop Museum and on Amazon.com. It’s about a local kid named Kino who travels back in time via the hut at the museum to 1825, where she meets Kauikeaouli, just weeks before he becomes Kamehameha III. Together they go on a quest around Oahu, looking for the items a kahuna said she needs to get home. The story is filled Hawaiian language, culture, and lore. Jennifer is grateful to her teacher Mrs. Sullivan, who laid the groundwork of honing her writing skills.

Congratulations Jennifer!
