Honor Societies

Students in all honor societies must complete their yearly community service requirement by the end of the mid-term of the second semester. To qualify or to be in good standing as society members, a student may not commit any major violation or more than two minor infractions against the school’s code of ethics during any one semester.

New honor society members are inducted and standing members recognized at the “Honor Societies Inductions & Honor Cords Ceremony” each spring during school hours. Parents are welcome to attend the inductions.

To be inducted into an honor society, the following criteria must be met:

  • Student must meet the GPA requirement for the honor society
  • Behavior Grade is no less than A-
  • Community Service Hours are met for the current school year
  • Student is registered to return for the following school year

Honor Society Advisers start the induction process in mid-March of the school year. GPA is taken from the current period as well at the behavior grade. Students need to have community service hours already completed for their current grade level. Graduation requires 100 community service hours, 25 hours per each year at Saint Francis School. For example, if the student is currently a sophomore, the 50 community service hours need to be completed by March 1. The last step in the process of invitees requires the student to be registered for the following school year.
