“Water Is Life”

Ciara Ratum Wins 1st Place in Olelo Youth Xchange Video Competition

The Olelo Youth Xchange Video Competition was held at the Convention Center on April 26, 2018. Senior, Ciara Ratum, won 1st place in the Board of Water Supply sponsored category. “In Hawaii’s culture, water has always been highly valued. It is the very essence of life. The people of Hawaii now should see the importance of water. It is important for our community to protect, preserve, and conserve Hawaii’s water because it gives not only our island life, but it gives life to us as well. The board of water supply’s ‘value of water’ category for Olelo Youth X Challenge is something I can relate to, having a passion for Hawaii. Living in Hawaii, water is an essence in life and we need to respect it.”

Ciara Ratum holds her 1st place trophy, certificate, and prize with a Board of Water Supply
representative that presented the “Value of Water” high school category.
